Delivering 2032 and Beyond: Last chance to apply for $30 million Games On! funding
- Three days remain for eligible Queensland sporting clubs to register interest in $30 million Games On! Grassroots Infrastructure Program.
- Games On! ensures all Queenslanders benefit from the Games to 2032 and beyond, with hundreds of grassroots clubs across Queensland to receive upgrades.
- The Crisafulli Government is backing Queensland clubs after a decade of underinvestment from the former Labor government.
The Crisafulli Government is delivering legacy benefits from the Games for 2032 and beyond, and is encouraging sporting clubs to register their interest in the $30 million Games On! Grassroots Infrastructure Program.
Applications close this Wednesday for funding to support upgrades such as improved lighting, playing surfaces, club amenities, shade structures and new or expanded community sporting facilities.
Funding is available through two streams:
- Games On! ‘Field of Play’ – $20 million of available funding with a focus on smaller, community-level infrastructure projects that enhance participation opportunities and upgrade amenities.
- Games On! ‘Partnership Fund’ – $10 million of available funding for new larger-scale infrastructure projects or upgraded and re-developed precincts.
Across Queensland, 119 projects are already being supported under the Games On! Program, ending a decade of underinvestment by the former Labor Government.
The Games On! investment is in addition to the $7.1 billion major venue infrastructure envelop and will deliver a major boost to community facilities.
Minister for Sport and Racing and Minister for the Olympic and Paralympic Games Tim Mander said the program was ensuring communities benefit from the 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
“Games On! is about making sure Queenslanders continue to benefit from the 2032 Games well after the closing ceremony,” Minister Mander said.
“We are backing local clubs with the facilities they need to help get more Queenslanders active, with easy access to sport no matter where you live.
“I encourage eligible organisations to get their registrations in before the 18 March deadline.”
Registrations of Interest close at 8pm AEST on 18 March 2026, with shortlisted applicants invited to submit a full application later in the year.
