The Crisafulli Government is taking the first Community Cabinet of 2026 to Caloundra, as it continues to deliver a fresh start for the Sunshine Coast.

Premier David Crisafulli and Ministers will meet with Sunshine Coast residents, groups, business owners, leaders and stakeholders to listen to their priorities for the region.

The Crisafulli Government will also update the community on how it is making the Sunshine Coast safer, delivering health services when you need them, delivering a better lifestyle through a stronger economy and a plan for the region’s future.

Since being elected to deliver a Fresh Start for the Sunshine Coast after Labor’s decade of decline, the Crisafulli Government has:

  • Delivered more police to the front line to restore safety where you live;
  • Locked-in permanent funding to expand POLAIR operations on the Sunshine Coast;
  • Progressed planning for the Caloundra Congestion Busting Traffic Plan, to ease traffic on busy Caloundra Road;
  • Locked in new generational infrastructure, including The Wave, all the way to the Sunshine Coast Airport;
  • Commenced work on the Mooloolah River Interchange upgrade, which will provide connectivity for The Wave;
  • Restored Bribie Island and the Pumicestone passage following successful emergency works;
  • Delivered easier access to health services for mums, bubs and their families with a $160 million investment for 30 additional perinatal mental health beds, including eight at the Sunshine Coast;
  • Eased cost of living pressures for Sunshine Coast families with relief they can rely on through the LNP’s Permanent 50 Cent Fares, Back to School Boost, and Play On! Sports Vouchers;
  • Delivered on a key election commitment with a permanent police presence for Nambour CBD through the new police beat;
  • Locked-in an $82.9 million investment - through the $2 billion Residential Activation Fund - for critical enabling infrastructure will help unlock more than 1800 new homes in the Maroochydore City Centre, delivering a place to call home for more Queenslanders.

Premier David Crisafulli said the Sunshine Coast would be the location of the year’s first Community Cabinet.

“We are continuing to deliver the fresh start we promised for the Sunshine Coast, including restoring safety where you live, easier access to health services, a place to call home for more Queenslanders and cost of living pressures,” Premier Crisafulli said.

“Community Cabinet is an opportunity to meet and hear from the Cabinet about progress of how we’re delivering for not only Caloundra, but the wider Sunshine Coast.”
