The Brisbane 2032 Organising Committee has launched the Games Vision for the Olympic and Paralympic Games: Believe. Belong. Become. Brisbane 2032.
The Games Vision is designed to serve as the aspirational guide for the delivery of the Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games for the committee.
More than 6,000 people from across Australia and the world, around half of which were from Queensland, gave their input.
After 1,200 days of Labor Games chaos, the Crisafulli Government is delivering a world-class Games for all of Queensland.
The 2032 Delivery Plan will connect Queensland by building the roads and generational infrastructure we need for the decades to come while backing our tourism sector and grassroots sporting clubs.
The Games Vision shows the importance of us seizing the economic opportunity ahead and the role the 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games will have in inspiring more Queenslanders to be active.
Minister for Sport and Racing and Minister for the Olympic and Paralympic Games Tim Mander said the Crisafulli Government was delivering a Games for all of Queensland.
“The 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games represent a once-in-a-generation opportunity for us to showcase the very best of Queensland on the world stage,” Minister Mander said.
“The Games Vision captures the drive, ambition, and belief in what’s possible that defines this State and sets a clear direction for what we want the Games to represent.
“This is an opportunity to reinforce that everyone belongs and is welcome to enjoy sport in our great State.”
Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games Organising Committee President Andrew Liveris said the Games Vision and accompanying beliefs, commitments and values serve as a guiding aspiration in the years ahead to 2032.
“Our Games Vision has significant symbolism behind it, with the genesis of each word acting as our north star towards the delivery of our Games in 2032 and an exciting era beyond,” Mr Liveris said.
“Communities across Queensland and Australia typify this memorable phrase through their daily actions. When our time arrives on the world stage, our local belief, grit and spirit will shine through, our sense of belonging will be celebrated and shared. And we will rise to become an even greater city, state and nation to visit, invest in and be part of, thanks to the gift of the Games.
“There’s no doubt that excitement is building and we’re determined to ensure that come 2032, the eyes of the world see the very best of Queensland, led by a Games Vision that unites, excites and inspires.”
