During Labor’s decade of decline, our exporters were held back by red tape, skills shortages and a lack of support.
The Crisafulli Government is restoring confidence, cutting barriers, and giving Queensland businesses the competitive edge they need to succeed - delivering on our promise to back Queensland innovation and global ambition.
Minister for Finance, Trade, Employment and Training Ros Bates congratulated the winners and said they represented exporting excellence in a globally competitive trade landscape.
“Under Labor, exports were transactional, relationships were an afterthought, Queensland’s export potential sat idle, and investment opportunities were missed,” Minister Bates said.
“By contrast, the Crisafulli Government is delivering a fresh start, and is telling the world Queensland is open for business – and these are the Queensland success stories leading the way.
"No matter what industry or their location, our exporters impress every day as they do what they do best - taking Queensland goods and services to the world.
"Earlier this month I led the largest ever Queensland trade delegation to China for the China International Import Expo. I saw first-hand the demand for our products because of the quality our state is known for."
Gold Coast-based Mineral Technologies came close in the Resources and Energy Category, instead receiving a Highly Commended.
Past Queensland winners of the Australian Exporter of the Year include Populous (2019); PWR Performance Products (2012); Sedgman (2011); and NOJA Power Switchgear (2009).
