Delivering growth for Queensland small and family businesses

- The program is backed by $3.5 million, with eligible small businesses able to apply for up to $75,000 in funding.
- The grant supports small and family businesses across all industries to purchase specialised equipment to deliver business growth.
- It’s just one of the ways the Crisafulli Government is delivering a fresh start for Queensland and a better lifestyle through a stronger economy.
The Crisafulli Government is delivering a better lifestyle through a stronger economy, with the Business Growth Fund now open for eligible high-growth small and family businesses to purchase specialised equipment.
Small and family businesses can apply for grants of between $50,000 and $75,000 with a co-contribution of at least 50 per cent of the total project cost required.
Small and family businesses generate $131 billion for the Queensland economy and employ more than 1 million Queenslanders.
The Crisafulli Government promised a fresh start for small and family businesses, after a decade of decline under Labor where Queensland experienced consecutive years of record rates of business insolvency.
The Business Growth Fund provides direct financial support for small and family businesses to grow, increase productivity and efficiency, increase market share or develop and expand export opportunities.
Funding can be used to purchase:
-
Production equipment to meet otherwise unachievable growth demand.
-
Advanced manufacturing or digital equipment and systems.
-
Advanced logistics systems and equipment.
Minister for Small and Family Business Steve Minnikin said small and family businesses were critical to our communities, creating jobs and supporting local communities.
“We are supporting small and family businesses across the state and, importantly in our regions, with grants to help their growth so they can continue to drive Queensland’s economy,” Minister Minnikin said.
“By 2032, Queensland is estimated to have over 615,000 small businesses operating across the state. This represents significant economic potential for Queensland, and the Crisafulli Government is helping small and family businesses to tap into this opportunity.”
Member for Nicklin Marty Hunt said it was important to continue to support and empower the local vibrant small and family business community to ensure they continue to flourish for years to come.
“Small businesses looking to buy, install and complete training to use new equipment face significant costs in time and money that can stop or slow their growth plans,” Mr Hunt said.
“Supporting small businesses to overcome these barriers will help them and the people they support - staff, suppliers and customers - to grow and thrive.”
The full program eligibility guidelines and conditions are available at business.qld.gov.au/growthfund where registration of interest can also be submitted by 30 January 2026.
