Exciting progress on Redcliffe Hospital Expansion
- The Crisafulli Government is delivering a bigger and better Redcliffe Hospital for the Moreton Bay community through its $18.5 billion Hospital Rescue Plan.
- Registration of interest for contractors to deliver main construction works for Redcliffe Hospital Expansion is now open until 21 November 2025.
- Richard Crookes Construction has been named as the successful company to deliver the $36 million expansion to the multi-storey carpark.
- The Crisafulli Government is delivering health services when you need them and a fresh start for Queensland.
The Crisafulli Government is delivering easier access to health services for the growing Moreton Bay community by delivering a bigger and better Redcliffe Hospital with more beds.
It is just one of the ways the Crisafulli Government is delivering for Queensland after a decade of decline under Labor, which saw the Redcliffe Hospital Expansion budget blowout of more than $1 billion and delayed at least two years.
An open market registration of interest for contractors to deliver main works on the new Redcliffe Hospital Expansion is now open and will close on 21 November 2025.
Key features of the Hospital Rescue Plan for the Redcliffe Hospital Expansion include:
- At least 210 new overnight beds - six more than originally promised
- Expanded services, including maternity, endoscopy, and operating theatres
- A design focused on safety for nurses, doctors, and healthcare workers
- No impact to the culturally significant tree on site
- Optimised site use to enhance service delivery
- Additional car parking to support growing demand
Richard Crookes Construction has been named as the successful contractor for the Hospital’s $36 million three-level extension of its multi-storey carpark, which will ultimately deliver over 530 new parking spaces. Work will begin in early 2026.
This is approximately a $13,000 per space cost saving compared to the estimate revealed in the independent review into Labor’s failed Capacity Expansion Program.
Minister for Health and Ambulance Services Tim Nicholls said the Crisafulli Government was delivering health services when you need them.
“We are delivering a fresh start for Redcliffe, after Labor failed to consult with clinicians and hospital workers and provide a proper plan for the Hospital Expansion,” Minister Nicholls said.
“Without our Hospital Rescue Plan and the calm and methodical approach to replanning and redesigning the Redcliffe Hospital Expansion, the community would be missing out on the facility they deserve.”
Member for Redcliffe Kerri-Anne Dooley said the Redcliffe Hospital Expansion was critical to support her growing community.
“As someone who used to work at the Redcliffe Hospital, I know how important this expansion is for the people of Moreton Bay,” Ms Dooley said.
“Our Government is delivering more beds, more parking and more services, to improve the hospital experience for everyone.”
The finalised masterplan for the Redcliffe Hospital Expansion is due by the end of the year.
