Open for business: Queensland goes global with new business brand

  • Crisafulli Government launches QueensLand of Opportunity to showcase the State’s strengths to global investors, exporters, and students.
  • Queenslanders have now seen 10 months of delivering under the Crisafulli Government, after 10 years of decline under Labor.
  • Bold international push ahead of the Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

The Crisafulli Government is delivering a fresh start for Queensland businesses with the launch of the QueensLand of Opportunity, a bold new global brand to position the State as Australia’s gateway to investment, trade, study and work.

For more than a decade, Labor neglected Queensland’s most important international relationships, exporters were buried under red tape, skilled worker shortages were ignored, and Queensland missed its chance to be recognised as a serious global business hub.

The brand will be rolled out across all government Departments that operate overseas and through Trade and Investment Queensland’s global network of 27 offices in 18 markets, supported by a new website, prospectus and coordinated digital campaigns across Asia, North America, and Europe.

With the Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games placing Queensland firmly in the global spotlight, the Crisafulli Government is making sure the world sees Queensland as more than a place to visit, but a place to invest, innovate and create jobs.

Minister for Finance, Trade, Employment and Training Ros Bates said the new brand would give Queensland exporters and investors the platform they need to succeed.

“Queensland is a land of opportunity, with world-class strengths in critical minerals, advanced manufacturing, agriculture, biotech and education,” Minister Bates said.

“The former Labor Government was no friend of Queensland exporters. They left businesses tied up in red tape, ignored workforce shortages and failed to promote Queensland on the world stage.

“In just ten months, the Crisafulli Government has delivered what Labor failed to achieve in a decade. This brand tells global investors, come to Queensland, and you’ll find the people, the support, and the opportunities to thrive. Because Queensland is open for business.”
