The Honourable John-Paul Langbroek
Crisafulli Government grants support non-state education
- The Crisafulli Government provides $12.24 million for capital works at non-state schools.
- The funds will help non-state schools build new facilities and enhance existing infrastructure, including classrooms, footpaths, and access roads.
- 10 independent school communities to benefit from the financial support.
The Crisafulli Government has approved more than $12 million for independent schools to build new facilities or upgrade existing infrastructure.
The grants can also be used to refurbish or convert existing facilities, improve school grounds including pick-up and set-down areas, build covered walkways and landscaping.
The funds will go to ten Queensland schools across the State and will be invested in a wide range of areas including new classrooms, safer footpaths, access roads, signage and lighting.
Kings Christian College at Walloon west of Ipswich will receive three grants totalling $10.72 million for a range of infrastructure projects.
The Crisafulli Government is investing $137.8 million this financial year to support capital projects at non-state schools.
Minister for Education John-Paul Langbroek said the funds would support a range of infrastructure needs at the schools.
“All Queensland school students deserve a world-class education system and the Crisafulli Government is proud of this funding announcement,” Minister Langbroek said.
“This investment for critical infrastructure projects will enable these schools to be better positioned to support their students in the classroom and the playground.
“The $10.72 million allocated to King’s Christian College will help the school build five new classrooms and a range of other specialist rooms.
“In Townsville, we are providing almost $62,000 for Calvary Christian College at Mount Louisa to pay for infrastructure charges associated with an extension to an existing Prep building.
“We are also proud to invest in The Industry School - Redlands at Cleveland with $211,268 to help cover the design and construction costs for frontage works at Bloomfield Street. In addition, we are helping the school to construct a crossover at John Street.
“Delivering world-class educational facilities for Queensland kids right across the state in state and non-state schools is a huge priority for us and we are committed to that.
“The Crisafulli Government is delivering the fresh start Queenslanders voted for.”
