A fresh start for Moreton Bay in 2025-26 Budget

Budget delivers the foundations for a fresh start for Moreton Bay with key investments in health, community safety, education and infrastructure.
Upgrade of the Redcliffe police facility and expanding POLAIR airborne law enforcement operations into Moreton Bay to make Queensland safer.
Expansion of the Redcliffe Hospital with at least 210 new overnight beds to restore health services when you need them most.
Delivery of the new Bribie Island Bridge and a new special school in Moreton Bay South to deliver generational infrastructure and plan for Queensland’s future.

The Crisafulli Government is delivering for Moreton Bay with investment in hospital and health services, a new Bribie Island Bridge and progress for a new special school for Moreton Bay South, in the 2025-26 Budget. 

Moreton Bay will also benefit from the Crisafulli Government’s $100 Back to School Boost, the $200 Play On! Sports Vouchers program, more frontline health workers, more police on the beat and new social and community housing.

The 2025-26 Budget lays the foundation for the fresh start Queenslanders voted for, addressing Labor’s youth crime, health, housing and cost of living crises.

The Budget focuses on making Queensland safer, delivering a place to call home for more Queenslanders, driving down cost of living pressures for families, providing more free healthcare and building generational infrastructure for our growing State.

The Crisafulli Government will also deliver a new Bribie Island Bridge to provide better transport for residents to and from Bribie Island.

Redcliffe Hospital will also receive support for multiple projects in the 2025-26 Budget including an expansion set to deliver at least 210 new overnight beds, as part of the Hospital Rescue Plan.

Additional Stage 1 car parking spaces will also be constructed for patients, carers, visitors and staff at the Redcliffe Hospital.

The Crisafulli Government will also deliver $367.7 million to redevelop the Caboolture Hospital to support an additional 130 beds, and refurbishment of critical clinical support services, as well as a further $15 million to build a dedicated Paediatric Outpatients area at Caboolture Hospital.

To continue to turn the tide on crime, the Crisafulli Government is also extending the operations of the POLAIR on the Sunshine Coast with expansion to include Moreton Bay.

Premier David Crisafulli said the Budget delivered the foundation for a fresh start for Moreton Bay, just as promised.  

“Today’s Budget delivers the fresh start Queensland needs and Queenslanders voted for, to address the crises in youth crime, health, housing and cost of living,” Premier Crisafulli said.

“We are delivering to restore safety where you live, health services when you need them, a better lifestyle through a stronger economy and a plan for Queensland’s future.

“This Budget delivers cost of living relief with the $100 Back to School Boost and the $200 Play On! Sports Vouchers Program, a fully-funded Hospital Rescue Plan, a new nation-leading home ownership program to reduce the deposit gap, as well more police and early intervention to make Queensland safer.”

Member for Pumicestone Ariana Doolan said the Budget delivered for Moreton Bay.

“We’re delivering a new Bribie Island Bridge as part of our plan for Queensland’s future and implementing urgent solutions to address the breakthrough on Bribie Island, as well as supporting local initiatives such as $920,000 for the Bribie Island Strength and Movement Club and $4.7 million for the redevelopment of Bribie Island Neighbourhood Centre,” Ms Doolan said.

Member for Redcliffe Kerri-Anne Dooley said the Budget delivered for Redcliffe.

“This Budget is about delivering for our community, expanding Redcliffe Hospital with 210 new beds, investing $44 million to upgrade the Redcliffe Police Station, and supporting local clubs like Peninsula Power and the Redcliffe Dolphins with lighting upgrades. We’re also making our roads safer with crucial upgrades and investing in school safety measures to protect our kids.”

Games On! Bribie Island Netball Club - $170,500 to resurface the netball courts.
Games On! Beachmere Rugby League $153,000 for lighting upgrades at the Beachmere Sports Club Complex.
Games On! Redcliffe Tigers AFL Club $200,000 to design female change rooms for the Redcliffe Tigers.
New Petrie substation - $21.6 million total spend to establish new Petrie substation to reinforce energy grid stability.
Miracle Mums - $150,000 for Miracle Mum's Movement Inc. to provide support for women who have been affected by family and domestic violence in Redcliffe and Moreton Bay.
Moreton Bay Meals on Wheels - $300,000 of additional funding for Moreton Bay Meals on Wheels to support their invaluable work in the community.
Moreton Bay TAFE Centre of Excellence - $60 million for the new Moreton Bay TAFE Centre of Excellence.
Moreton Bay Wildlife Hospital and Education Hub - $15 million for the Moreton Bay Wildlife Hospital and Education Hub in Dakabin to protect Queensland's precious wildlife.
New Deception Bay SES - Delivering on our $3.75 million election commitment for a new State Emergency Service depot in Deception Bay in partnership with Moreton Bay Council.
PCYC Pine Rivers - $2.1 million towards the Pine Rivers PCYC upgrade that will offer youth development programs, sport, recreation and community run activities.
Pine Rivers State High School - $9.6 million to deliver additional specialist classrooms.
Redcliffe Area Youth Space Program - $2 million to build a specialist program in partnership with City of Moreton Bay to support young people disengaged, or at risk of disengaging from education.
University of the 3rd Age (U3A) - Bribie Island $100,000 to help University of the 3rd Age (U3A) Bribie Island secure a new home.
Woodford State School - Delivering accommodation for Years 11 and 12, as part of the $70.68 million School and Education Boost funding.
Zero Litter to the Bay by 2030 - $35 million to partner with local government to upgrade stormwater network infrastructure and prevent litter escaping into Moreton Bay by 2030.
