Queensland’s Trade Mission to China Secures Record Export Win
- Queensland exporters lock in deals at Asia’s top food and hospitality expo.
- New trade office in Shenzhen reflects the Crisafulli Government’s global economic agenda.
- Mission led by Minister Bates restores confidence in Queensland’s international trade footprint.
The Crisafulli Government has secured millions of dollars in new export deals during a major trade mission to China.
Minister for Finance, Trade, Employment and Training Ros Bates led the delegation to HOFEX 2025 – one of Asia’s largest trade expos – where 15 Queensland companies generated $3.99 million in export outcomes and secured 191 new trade leads.
The mission re-established Queensland’s commercial presence in China through 17 high-level trade, investment, and education meetings across Shanghai, Hong Kong, and Shenzhen.
The delegation also opened a new Trade and Investment Queensland (TIQ) office in Shenzhen to boost exports in the Greater Bay Area.
Over the past seven months, TIQ offices in the Greater Bay Area have already driven more than $46 million in commercial outcomes for Queensland businesses – a powerful return on investment that cements Queensland’s place in the region’s growth story.
Queensland’s renewed push in China comes after the launch of the Queensland-China Trade and Investment Strategy 2025 – a key plank in the Crisafulli Government’s economic growth plan, focusing on high-value exports and investment in regional industries.
Minister for Finance, Trade, Employment and Training Ros Bates said the Crisafulli Government was backing exporters, creating jobs and driving trade results.
“Queensland is back on the global stage, and we’re open for business,” Minister Bates said.
“Labor pulled Queensland out of global trade forums. We’ve re-engaged and reasserted Queensland’s leadership across Asia.
