The Crisafulli Government is calling on Queenslanders to help shape the State’s sports legacy by having their say on the consultation paper, ‘What Does 2032 Mean for You?’.
The Discussion Paper aims to ensure Queensland's dominance as a sporting powerhouse continues, and will inform a new 10-year strategy that will shape future investment, with a focus on maximising the benefits beyond Brisbane 2032 for all of Queensland.
Queenslanders can have their say through an online survey and written submissions, as well as at community forums to be held across the State, and targeted consultation with industry.
After 1,200 days of Olympics chaos under the former Labor Government, the Crisafulli Government is getting on with the 2032 Delivery Plan which will set the State up for success during the 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games, and beyond.
The 2032 Delivery Plan outlines the Government’s $7.1 billion investment which will deliver legacy infrastructure, and an additional $250 million investment into grassroots sporting clubs across the State through the GamesOn! Program.
Minister for Sport and Racing and Minister for the Olympic and Paralympic Games Tim Mander said the Queensland is on the cusp of an extraordinary opportunity.
“Hosting the 2032 Games will not only allow us to deliver an exceptional event but build a legacy that will transform our State into the undeniable home of Australian sport,” Minister Mander said.
“The Games will inspire and connect Queenslanders, after 1,200 days of Labor’s Olympic chaos, we will deliver a legacy that goes well beyond the 2032 Games.
“We want to hear from the community about the challenges they face in getting active, how to help community sport thrive, encourage more volunteers, and alleviate cost pressures.”
“I urge all Queenslanders to have their say and help shape the future of sport in Queensland.”
Consultation will be open until midnight Sunday 15 June 2025, with a final strategy to be released later this year.
