The Honourable Cameron Dick

Minister for Housing, Local Government and Planning and Minister for Public Works
The Honourable Meaghan Scanlon

  • Miles Government secures 483 affordable homes with support from its Housing Investment Fund
  • The homes will be delivered by Tetris Capital, in partnership with Metricon, National Affordable Housing, KDL Property Group and ANZ
  • Part of Miles Government’s Homes for Queenslanders plan to deliver one million more homes

Close to 500 affordable homes will be built in key growth areas as the Miles Government rolls out its Homes for Queenslanders plan.

The affordable homes will include 257 three-bedroom homes, 85 two-bedroom homes and 141 one-bedroom homes for individuals, couple and young families.

Homes will be built across four growth suburbs - Burpengary East, Jimboomba, Logan Reserve and Joyner - where approximately 85 per cent of residents earn low and moderate incomes.

The majority of the homes will be dual-key designs made possible by government changes to planning regulations for secondary dwellings.

It’s being delivered, operated and financed by a partnership made up of Tetris Capital, Metricon, KDL Property Group, National Affordable Housing (NAH) and ANZ.

It comes after the Miles Government and Tetris Capital just the other week turned the sod on the state’s largest social and affordable housing project in Cairns.

Construction of the 483 homes will be completed in stages, commencing from October 2024.

First tenants are expected to be welcomed from mid-2025 with the final home anticipated to be complete by mid-2027.
