New Rosewood Police Station to strengthen community safety

The newly constructed Rosewood Police Station was officially opened today by the Minister for Police and Community Safety, The Hon. Mark Ryan MP, marking a significant enhancement to police services and community safety in the greater Ipswich region.
The new $4.4 million station has been designed to meet the growing demands of the Rosewood community, accommodating eight general duties officers, with an additional three positions to be added within the current financial year.
The Rosewood Police Division services an area spanning approximately 716 square kilometres, covering key locations such as Rosevale, Marburg, Walloon and Grandchester, with a population of around 15,000 people.
The previous Rosewood Police Station was built in 1989, replacing the original structure which dated back to 1908. Today’s opening marks a new chapter in the station’s history, providing state-of-the-art facilities to support officers in their vital work.
Acting Commissioner of Police, Shane Chelepy, was also on hand to officially open the new facility and meet local police members.
