Minister for Health, Mental Health and Ambulance Services and Minister for Women
The Honourable Shannon Fentiman
- Queensland Health has launched a new performance website.
- The site, titled ‘Queensland Health Our Performance’, incorporates new data on emergency care, virtual care, mental health, maternity and cancer.
- The new website will improve transparency and provide Queenslanders with timely, accurate, and easily accessible information on the performance of Queensland Health.
Queenslanders now have access to even more health data through the newly launched hospital and health system performance website.
The website, which is now live, will publish a greater range of quarterly performance data for Queensland Health’s hospital and health services across the state.
Titled ‘Queensland Health Our Performance’, the site continues to provide key metrics related to patient admissions, emergency care, elective surgery, and specialist outpatient appointments.
Beyond the traditional metrics, for the first time we will now regularly report on:
- Emergency department (ED) arrivals by ambulance
- ED presentations specifically for mental health care
- Patients who left the ED after receiving care within four hours
- Specialist outpatient appointments conducted via virtual care
- Mental health performance measures
- Additional maternity measures and
- Expanded cancer care screening information to include bowel and cervical cancers in addition to breast.
Data sets for some measures, including patient off stretcher times (POST), have also been broadened to include total numbers, not just percentages and includes data statewide as well as for the top 26 hospitals.
As part of the redesign, health consumers and website development experts have been engaged to ensure that the new website provides performance information that is relevant to Queenslanders, in a way that is easy to use and understand.
The new website features interactive visualisations, updated navigation, with an improved ability to view performance at a National, Statewide, Hospital and Health Service or Facility Level, including the newly opened satellite facilities.
It will also include ‘this period at a glance’ trends to see performance over time and previous periods to explore reporting in detail.
In addition, the written context and information supporting the data has been reviewed to ensure that consumers are able to access the information they need, quickly and easily.
The hospital performance website was first launched in 2011, reporting data at statewide, Hospital and Health Service and facility levels.
