Crimestoppers Queensland celebrates 35th birthday and funding boost from Miles Government

After more than three decades helping to fight crime and support community safety, Crimestoppers Queensland has celebrated its 35th birthday at a special commemorative event at Parliament House.
During its 35 year history Crimestoppers Queensland has received over 1.3 million anonymous reports which have assisted in solving and preventing crimes.
The organisation has supported more than 120,000 charges being laid, resulting in more than 42,000 arrests.
In addition, Crimestoppers Queensland has helped recover more than $660,000 worth of illegal drugs.
Crimestoppers invaluable work is supported by more than 350 volunteers and 22 area committees.
In a further recognition of the outstanding contribution Crimestoppers makes to the community, the Miles Government today announced $400,000 in ongoing annual funding to support the dedicated efforts Crimestoppers and its people make to protect their fellow Queenslanders.
