  • Diverse and experienced group of directors have been appointed to Queensland Government owned enterprises
  • 14 of 21 appointments are women
  • Female representation will increase to 55 percent

This round of appointments will continue the Queensland Government’s commitment to gender equity, increasing representation from 52 per cent in 2023 to 55 per cent.

The appointment of 21 new and reappointed directors across seven government owned corporations (GOC) and Seqwater will commence from 1 June 2024.

The businesses deliver essential services across electricity, water, ports and deliver critical infrastructure to support economic growth.

The new appointments to ensure boards comprise of members with requisite skills and experience to operate effectively.

The government has already delivered on its target of 50 per cent representation of women on our government-owned business boards, set as part of the Queensland Women’s Strategy.

Quotes attributable to Deputy Premier and Treasurer Cameron Dick:

“Publicly-owned enterprises play a vital role in water, energy, transport and finance across Queensland.

The strength of Queensland’s Government-Owned Corporations sets us apart from other jurisdictions, so it is critical these businesses continue to be overseen by capable boards that bring a breadth of experience..

“Through these appointments, we continue to exceed our target of 50 per cent of women on Queensland Government Boards.

I look forward to working with new and continuing members delivering essential projects across the state.

“I would also like to thank outgoing members for their service and contribution to Queensland.”
