  • Queensland organisations can apply for a share of $950,000 to deliver events that promote unity and inclusion
  • Applications close on 30 June 2024 for events to be delivered in 2025
  • This year the program is funding 125 events and festivals that celebrate the state’s multiculturalism

Queensland organisations that deliver events and festivals promoting unity and inclusion are encouraged to apply for a share of $950,000 through the Celebrating Multicultural Queensland program.

The funding helps organisations to give all Queenslanders the opportunity to celebrate the state’s rich and diverse multicultural heritage.

The grants are part of the Queensland Government’s commitment to promote the state as a place of welcome, opportunity and inclusivity.

Queensland thrives when everyone is supported to connect, contribute and belong.

In 2024, the Celebrating Multicultural Queensland program is funding organisations to deliver 125 events and festivals, including the Mount Isa Multicultural Festival, the Cairns Greek Festival and the Brisbane Chinese Festival.

Submissions for this year’s Celebrating Multicultural Queensland grants program are for events to be delivered in 2025.

Quotes attributable to Minister for Multicultural Affairs Charis Mullen:

“From the far north to the southeast, we want to see Queenslanders getting involved in these events wherever they can.

“Multicultural events are a wonderful way to showcase and celebrate our rich cultural heritage.

“Queenslanders speak hundreds of languages and come from all corners of the globe – we truly are a multicultural state.

“Funding from the program has supported some of our favourite festivals and days of cultural significance, including the Luminous Lantern Parade and events throughout Ramadan and Diwali.

“I look forward to seeing more organisations apply for grants so they can keep delivering such vibrant events for communities.”
