Homes for Queenslanders: 10 new homes for Hervey Bay

Tradies are building 10 new social homes in Hervey Bay with the Miles Government delivering its Homes for Queenslanders plan.

Housing Minister Meaghan Scanlon says homes like these are at risk under the LNP who cut social housing and will cut it again.

The Torquay project will feature 10 one-bedroom units suitable for single people and couples including seniors, young people and people with a disability.

Three of the units will be built to Platinum standard and two will be built to Gold standard under Liveable Housing Design guidelines, meaning they will be accessible for seniors and people who may have mobility needs.

Construction is being undertaken by Murphy Builders QLD and is forecast to be completed in early 2025, weather and construction conditions permitting. 

These 10 homes are among the 53,500 social homes to be delivered by 2046 as part of the Homes for Queenslanders plan.
