Minister for Police and Minister for Corrective Services, Mark Ryan, today announced upgrades to the Moore Police Station residence, located in the Somerset Region, are now complete.

The Minister said the Queensland Police Service has a reputation as a world class operation and that it was important the government support the efforts of police by giving them the best possible resources and facilities.

“Recent works at the Moore police residence reflect the government’s commitment to the police that serve our communities so selflessly on a daily basis.

“The works included an upgrade to the bathroom and kitchen, a new driveway, landscaping, electrical and structural upgrades, and security upgrades.

“These works will improve conditions and safety for the police officer living at the residence.

“And these works have also supported local jobs.

“The Palaszczuk Government is committed to supporting police in the work they do for local communities.

“We have more police personnel than ever before and they are better equipped than ever before.

“We commend their unrelenting efforts to keep Queenslanders safe,” Minister Ryan said.
