    Treasurer announces new GOC board appointments

    Treasurer Andrew Fraser has announced a series of appointments to the Boards of Queensland’s Government-Owned Corporations.

    “It’s a quality group of appointments in charge of taxpayer investments,” Mr Fraser said.

    Helen Skippen will join the ranks of the Gladstone Ports Corporation Limited (GPC) Board as a new director.

    “As a strategy consultant, Ms Skippen brings strong strategic management and oversight skills to this position, making her a welcome asset to the team,” Mr Fraser said.

    Alan Millhouse has been appointed as a director of SunWater Limited, as the corporation enters into an increasing number of commercial arrangements.

    “His extensive commercial law experience and involvement in a number of major infrastructure projects in Queensland including South East Queensland Busways and the Gateway Upgrade Project will be of great value to the SunWater Board,” Mr Fraser said.

    Mr Fraser has announced the departure of Elizabeth Jameson, after a successful term as a director of Tarong Energy Corporation Limited.

    In the energy sector, several existing directors have been re-appointed to the boards of ENERGEX Limited, Ergon Energy Corporation Limited and Tarong Energy.

    Major-General Peter Arnison AC (retired), John Geldard and Professor Mat Darveniza will retain their positions on the ENERGEX Board.

    John Bird, Helen Stanton, Tony Mooney and Susan Forrester have been re-appointed as directors of Ergon Energy.

    Graham Carpenter and Karen Smith-Pomeroy will continue in their roles as chairman and director on the Tarong Energy Board.

    Mr Fraser announced a number of experienced directors have been re-appointed to various port GOCs.

    “Recognising his significant skills and experience, Ian Brusasco AM has been re-appointed as Chairman of GPC.

    Roy Ware has been re-appointed as a Director of the GPC.

    Catherine Sinclair and Loftus Harris have been re-appointed as Directors of Port of Brisbane Corporation Limited.

    Ross Dunning AC will continue as Chairman of the Port of Townsville Limited Board for another term.

    Lawyer Kenneth MacDonald has been re-appointed as a director of QIC Limited for another term.

    John Gibson, Gregory Moynihan and Dr Thomas Connor AO have been re-appointed as directors of the State owned bulk water provider, SunWater.
