    LNP jobs target: ZERO

LNP Shadow Minister Fiona Simpson has made the stunning admission that her party has no target for job creation in Queensland.

On ABC radio this morning, Ms Simpson admitted the LNP still believes cutting the public sector by 3% would actually create jobs in Queensland, despite the 12,000 people that would have to be sacked to see the policy implemented.

She also admitted the LNP had no target for job creation.

“Queensland faces many challenges, particularly around job creation, and we need a firm commitment to create jobs,” Treasurer Andrew Fraser said.

“How can the LNP pretend they care about jobs when they don’t have a jobs target, and the only policies they have are to sack 12,000 public servants and slash the building program?

“It is mind-boggling that the LNP still thinks sacking thousands of Queenslanders will help create jobs.

“In Western Australia, where their Liberal counterparts have introduced the same policy, almost 500 workers from one of the state’s biggest hospitals lost their jobs just last week.

“If the LNP were in power in Queensland, that’s the sort of impact they would have on job creation.

“Fiona Simpson and John-Paul Langbroek need to stand up today and tell Queensland if their 3% cuts policy still exists and if they still plan to sack 12,000 public servants.

“If not, they need to tell people how they plan to create jobs, and how many jobs they plan to create.

“You can’t play politics and have no policies.”
