Qld COVID-19 – Tue May 19: Unite and recover as curve stays flat

Positive health results have paved the way for the Queensland Government’s COVID-19 economic recovery strategy, as no new cases and another recovery keep the curve flat.

There are now 12 active cases, 1039 recovered and six deaths for a total of 1057.

Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk said she was able to talk about economic recovery today because the virus was being contained.

“The plan that we have announced today, our path forward in recovery, is the result of meeting with stakeholders and listening to their concerns,” Ms Palaszczuk said

“We are all united in our focus to look after Queensland jobs - our absolute focus is to be united and recover for Queenslanders.

“And a range of stakeholders who represent a broad range of industries across Queensland are committed to working with my government to deliver the very best for Queenslanders.”

The Unite and Recover for Queensland Jobs strategy includes:

All underpinned by the Government’s $51.8 billion, four-year infrastructure program.
