Police response times continue to improve in Coomera Division

According to statistics provided by the Queensland Police Service, police response times in Coomera Division are on the way down.

Between 2016 and 2018 the average response time to a call for service has decreased by approximately a minute.

The average response time in 2016 was 8.36m.

By 2018 that figure had come down to 7.43m.

Response times had also improved in Nerang, Palm Beach, Runaway Bay and Surfers Paradise Divisions.

For the Gold Coast District as a whole the average response time has also declined.

Police Minister Mark Ryan said Queensland’s world class Police Service was always looking for ways to improve.

“The QPS leads the nation’s policing efforts in so many ways.

“Our police are quick to adopt new technologies and new policing methodologies.

“And nowhere is this more apparent than on the Gold Coast.

“The adoption of a borderless policing model where police are sent in numbers to where they’re needed, when they’re needed, makes for a more mobile and agile service than ever before.

“That philosophy combined with technologies that enable police to spend more time out on the streets and less time behind a desk, means people in the community see more police, more often.

“There are more than one thousand police on the Gold Coast and they are deployed more effectively than ever before thanks to the District Tasking and Coordination Centre at Surfers Paradise.

“People on the Gold Coast can rest assured police will never let up when it comes to community safety,” the Minister said.
