The Honourable Mark Bailey

Future upgrades and safety improvements to Eatons Crossing Road will be identified through an upcoming planning study.

Transport and Main Roads Minister Mark Bailey said $600,000 had been allocated to consider safety and performance issues on the full length of the Eatons Crossing Road.

“The local community has raised concerns about the road's safety and performance and this planning study is the first step in addressing these issues,” Mr Bailey said.

“The planning will determine what improvements or upgrades are feasible to provide motorists with a safer road.

“Planning will consider capacity, safety and efficiency measures through a traffic flow study, options analysis and a comprehensive safety review.”

Mr Bailey said the study would allow Transport and Main Roads to develop an action plan of priority improvements with cost estimates and would allow further funding allocations to be considered.

“This funding demonstrates the Palaszczuk Government’s continued commitment to investing and improving our statewide road network for the benefit of all motorists,” he said.

Mr Bailey said the planning study was expected to be completed mid 2019.
