Almost $360,000 in resurfacing works on the western boat ramp at Plantation Creek are now complete.

Transport and Main Roads Minister Mark Bailey said the well-used boat ramp east of Ayr, was upgraded to improve safety for local boaties.

“The boat ramp was completely resurfaced with a slip-free treatment to meet current TMR design standards,” Mr Bailey said.

“The resurfaced ramp now has a design life of 50 years.’’

Mr Bailey thanked the community for their patience while works were carried out.

‘‘The ramp was closed for eight weeks to accommodate resurfacing works which we know is tough on local boaties because it keeps them off the water,’’ Mr Bailey said.

‘‘Locals can be assured the upgraded facility will now provide improved boating and fishing opportunities for many years to come.’’

Funding for the project was provided from the Queensland Government’s Marine Infrastructure Fund and Marine Infrastructure Investment Program.
