Big Trev caught telling another big fib

Minister for Transport and Main Roads
The Honourable Mark Bailey

Transport and Main Roads Minister Mark Bailey has called out the LNP’s candidate for Longman Trevor Ruthenberg on yet another lie.

Mr Bailey said it appeared Mr Ruthenberg couldn’t lie straight in bed to save himself, after the candidate was caught claiming credit for funding the $100 million Boundary Road project when he was the member for Kallangur (https://www.facebook.com/TrevorRuthenberg/videos/842777545918021/).

“This claim is as fraudulent as everything else he's said," Mr Bailey said.

"Not content with making bogus claims to war medals, Mr Ruthenberg is now lying about his record as an MP when he served in Campbell Newman’s government.

“In fact, it was the Palaszczuk Government who first allocated funding for this joint project the year after Mr Ruthenberg was turfed out by the voters of Kallangur.

“What’s more, the only way the LNP planned on raising the $20 million in state funding needed for the project was through asset sales.

“Does Malcolm Turnbull really believe someone who takes credit for other people’s actions and lies about his track record, either in the defence force or in parliament, is fit to represent the people of Longman?

“The people of Longman deserve better. They deserve someone who fights for them in Canberra like Susan Lamb. They deserve Labor.”
