Premier and Minister for Trade
The Honourable Annastacia Palaszczuk

Minister for Transport and Main Roads
The Honourable Mark Bailey

Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk will lead a delegation to Hollywood to bring the next blockbusters home to Queensland.

It comes as the Federal Government finally agrees to the Premier’s request for more support for Queensland’s film industry and follows the successful #SaveDora compaign.

“Canberra said no to us so many times on film funding,” the Premier said.

“It just shows the value of never giving up.”

The Premier will visit Los Angeles in early June as part of a Tokyo and Boston trade mission that includes the BIO conference showcasing new technologies that the premier has championed from the beginning.

“Queensland has been at the forefront of attracting new industries,” the Premier said.

“This builds on the campaign we started in 2015 to develop bio-fuels  along with medical and other industries to bring us the new high-paying, high-tech jobs Queenslanders need.”

“The film industry is just another example of finding new ways to build jobs.”

The Premier’s Japan/US Trade Mission is from May 29 to June 6.
