Minister for Police and Minister for Corrective Services
The Honourable Mark Ryan

Police have raided several properties in the Murgon, Cherbourg area resulting in 27 people being charged with more than a hundred offences.

Operation Quebec Overwhelm targeted drug and property crime.

The two day operation is a textbook illustration of modern policing strategy.

When a issue arises in a community police resources are promptly allocated to respond.

Operation Quebec Overwhelm included not just Murgon and Cherbourg police officers but also the Moreton Bay Tactical Crime Squad.

“I commend the Queensland Police Service for its relentless and innovative approach to fighting crime,” Minister for Police Mark Ryan said.

“Police have sent a clear message; commit a crime in the Murgon, Cherbourg region and you will be arrested.”
