The Honourable Cameron Dick
The Palaszczuk Government has announced new appointments to the Building Queensland Board for the next three years.
Minister for State Development, Manufacturing, Infrastructure and Planning Cameron Dick said the appointees have the diverse mix of experience and skills needed to ensure Building Queensland continues to successfully deliver expert advice on the pipeline of major infrastructure projects currently transforming Queensland.
“I want to congratulate the returning board members on their appointments, Mr Alan Millhouse (Chair), Dr Catherin Bull and Mr Kevin Hegarty, and welcome new board members Ms Lesley Morris and Ms Fiona Murdoch,” Mr Dick said.
“The appointees are highly experienced professionals who bring a range of skills in infrastructure to government, including business case analysis, regional infrastructure knowledge, transport planning and logistics and governance.
“I thank outgoing members Mr Graham Hooper and Ms Jacqui Walters for their service to the board, and for their contribution to the development of infrastructure for Queenslanders.
“The current board has a strong legacy, including oversight of the establishment of Building Queensland, and a substantial body of work in assessing major infrastructure proposals for transport, hospitals, water and community infrastructure.”
Mr Dick said Building Queensland will continue to contribute to the government’s agenda to grow the economy, create jobs and deliver vital infrastructure for Queenslanders.
“Building Queensland provides independent, expert advice to the Queensland Government on infrastructure priorities for the state, based on rigorous business cases, including cost benefit analysis and community benefit,” he said.
The Building Queensland Act provides for a board of directors comprising five appointed members and the directors-general of the Department of Premier and Cabinet and the Department of State Development, Manufacturing, Infrastructure and Planning, and the under treasurer for Queensland Treasury.
Appointments take effect on Monday 3 December 2018, with the three-year term concluding Thursday 2 December 2021.
