Minister for Education and Minister for Industrial Relations
The Honourable Grace Grace

The community is invited to share their design ideas for the new Inner City South State Secondary College at two upcoming interactive design sessions.

Education Minister Grace Grace said the community’s input was essential to starting the design process.

“The project team is currently procuring an architect to commence design and master planning for the school,” Ms Grace said.

“To get this process underway, we want to outline the values and preferences of our local community to guide the design from the outset.

“We want to hear the community’s view on the creative and innovative learning spaces required to ensure the school meets contemporary educational needs for inner city students.

“This is a unique and exciting opportunity to help play a part in the design of this future-focussed education facility.”

Deputy Premier and Member for South Brisbane Jackie Trad welcomed the announcement of the next round of consultation.

“Community participation is incredibly important in the development of this wonderful educational facility and I encourage all local residents to get involved,” Ms Trad said.

“Community members can attend one of the two community design sessions and participate in the interactive activities or provide their ideas online via the project website.”

The community is invited to drop-in and talk to a project team member and share their design ideas for the new school at one of the following information sessions:

  • Saturday 27 October, 2pm to 4pm, Dutton Park State School Hall, 112 Annerley Road, Dutton Park (TBC).
  • Thursday 1 November, 6pm to 8pm, Dutton Park State School Hall, 112 Annerley Road, Dutton Park (TBC).

Please register for the event online. If you are unable to attend a drop-in session, you can share your design ideas for the new school on the project website until Sunday 4 November 2018.
