State Cabinet will hold its annual Ekka meeting at the Royal Queensland Show tomorrow (Monday, 14 August).

Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk said Cabinet had met in Cairns and Gold Coast over last month, and the Royal Queensland Show Cabinet meeting was part of the Government's commitment to listen and deliver for Queenslanders.

"Since 1876, the Exhibition has showcased the best Queensland has to offer.  It's also a major event for families to have fun together," she said.

"My Government will have comprehensive display of a wide range of services, including the Smart Savings website for the concessions and rebates available to Queenslanders.  The Government expects to pay $5.3 billion this financial year in concessions and rebates, including the increased rebate of up to a $340.85 rebate on electricity bills for eligible seniors, pensioners and Commonwealth Health Care card holders."

Cabinet first met at the Royal Queensland Show on 2 August 1999, at the suggestion of then Primary Industries Minister Henry Palaszczuk to Premier Peter Beattie.

"I am proud to continue this tradition," she said.
