The Honourable Yvette D'Ath

The Attorney-General and Minister for Justice Yvette D’Ath has appointed Peta Stilgoe OAM as the new member of the Land Court of Queensland.

Mrs D’Ath said as a current Senior Member of the Queensland Civil and Administrative Tribunal, Ms Stilgoe brought a wealth of expertise to the Land Court.

“Peta Stilgoe is a well-respected litigation lawyer with particular experience in planning and environment matters.

“What’s more, she has specialised in mediation, and was awarded an OAM for services to dispute resolution.”

Ms Stilgoe has been a permanent member of QCAT since its inception, and a Senior Member since 2012.

She has a Bachelor of Laws and a Certificate in Mediation from QUT and a Master of Laws from London University.

Mrs D’Ath said Ms Stilgoe was appointed after consultation with the President of the Land Court, Judge Fleur Kingham, on the best way to boost resourcing for the court and address the workload of the court.

Ms Stilgoe takes up the position tomorrow (Friday July 21).
