The Honourable Mick de Brenni

Far North Queensland companies are encouraged to tender for works to update the fit out of a government office in Cairns to accommodate the Cairns District Youth Justice Service.

Member for Barron River Craig Crawford said the project on Spence Street would provide work for a range of trades.

“There’s work on offer for businesses who can paint, construct new work areas and conference rooms, install updated conferencing facilities and lay carpet,” Mr Crawford said.

“When it’s complete, the office will be a purpose-designed facility for the Cairns Youth Justice Program.

“This is another example of the Palaszczuk Government delivering key services and supporting jobs for Cairns locals.”

Minister for Housing and Public Works Mick de Brenni encouraged local businesses to tender for the work.

“These jobs support local tradies and their families, so I strongly encourage every eligible local business to get a tender in.”
