Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk has paid tribute to her long-serving Chief of Staff Angela MacDonagh, who has today announced her resignation.

“On behalf of the entire government I want to thank Angela for her counsel and support over the last five years,” said the Premier.

“She did the hard yards leading a very small team through three years of Opposition, and it was in no small part due to her dedication, commitment and insight that we were able to turn around from the defeat of 2012 to form government less than three years later.

“Working in politics means long hours, relentless pressure and often very little thanks.

“I am indebted to Angela for everything she has done and wish her all the best on whatever path she chooses to pursue next.

“Early last year Angela indicated to me her intention to move on.

“In early April this year she tendered her resignation, and has decided to finish up in her current role at the end of this week.

“I will have more to say about her replacement as Chief of Staff in coming days.”
