Queensland Futures Institute Statement of Cooperation

The Palaszczuk Government and Queensland Futures Institute (QFI) have formally signed a Statement of Cooperation.

Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk said the QFI, which was established in 2014 as an independent, apolitical, research and policy body, a shared goal of the Government and QFI was for a better and stronger Queensland.

“To be successful in developing a diverse and sustainable economy that meets the challenges of the future, we need to work together,” she said.

“This statement formalises the partnership between the State Government and QFI.”

The Premier said her Government was determined to create new opportunities for Queenslanders, across the State, through its commitment to infrastructure, innovation and investment.

“We want to ensure Queensland’s capacity to adapt and thrive in a period of rapid change,” she said.

“That is why my Government is investing $405 million in the flagship Advance Queensland initiative.It is my Government’s plan to drive innovation across Queensland.

“Advance Queensland will position the State as a place where entrepreneurs, industry, universities and government collaborate to turn great ideas into new products, businesses and jobs.”

“My Government looks forward to an even stronger partnership with QFI through this Statement of Cooperation.”
