I am pleased to announce David Barbagallo AM has accepted my offer to serve as my Chief of Staff.

David brings a wealth of experience in business, IT, education and the disability services sector, as well as serving in the former Goss Government.

His distinguished career includes serving as Chief Executive Officer of Endeavour Foundation (2009 – 2016), Executive Vice President - Solutions Development, Mincom Ltd (2002 – 2005) and Chief Executive Officer of Co-operative Research Centre for Distributed Systems (1994 – 2002).

Earlier this year, David was honoured with the Order of Australia - Member in the General Division for services to the IT Industry, higher education, business and people with a disability.

In 2003, David was the inaugural recipient of Pearcey Award for contribution to the IT Industry in Queensland.

He served as Principal Private Secretary to former Premier Wayne Goss (1991 – 1994).

Other positions he has held include non-executive Director Translink (2010 – 2012), non-executive Director Australian Centre for Interactive Design (2008 – 2010), non-executive Director and Chairman of the Australian Institute of Commercialisation (2007 – 2011), non-executive Director Queensland Manufacturing Institute - QMI - Solutions (2011 – 2013), and as member of the Queensland Health Promotion Council (1994 – 95).

I would like to repeat my thanks to Angela MacDonagh, who served as my Chief of Staff since the 2012 election and pay tribute to her contribution through the three years of Opposition and our first two years in Government.

I also would like to thank Michael Stephenson, who has assisted the transition over the last fortnight.
