English singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran brings his “Divide” tour to Suncorp Stadium, Brisbane on 20 March 2018.

The Brit and Grammy award winning artist’s recently released third album ÷ (“Divide”) has already sold more than 200,000 copies, and the single “Shape of You” is the longest-running No.1 in Australian chart history.

Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk and Minister for Sport Mick de Brenni said Queensland was looking forward to repeating the success of Ed Sheeran’s sell out performance at Suncorp Stadium in 2015.

“Ed Sheeran is accustomed to playing some of the world’s most renowned venues and I’m delighted he’s chosen to include our iconic Suncorp Stadium on the list for this tour,” Ms Palaszczuk said.

Mr de Brenni said he had no doubt Queenslanders will flock to see Ed Sheeran again

"It’s shaping up to be a fantastic concert experience,” he said.

“Major concerts such as this raise the profile of Queensland across Australia and around the world, as well as providing a significant boost to local jobs and businesses.”

Suncorp Stadium General Manager Alan Graham said the concert would be the latest in a long line of successful shows at the stadium.

“We’ve held 19 concerts here since 2006 and the calibre of artist just keeps getting better,” Mr Graham said.

“We’ve hosted artists including Taylor Swift, U2, Robbie Williams, Bon Jovi and more recently Coldplay and Justin Beiber and we’re thrilled to welcome Ed Sheeran and his fans back to the stadium,” he said.

The concert will be held under regulatory guidelines which include measures to manage noise, lighting, traffic, transport, parking and crowd behaviour to minimise the impact on local residents.

Local residents will be given the opportunity to pre-purchase tickets to the concert, with details communicated via letterbox drop.

Tickets will be available to purchase through www.ticketek.com.au from 23 May 2017.
