The Palaszczuk Government is helping freight operators avoid a Cyclone Debbie-related damaged bridge on the Gold Coast by fast-tracking a temporary alternative route.

Main Roads and Roads Safety Minister Mark Bailey said the closure of the Alan Wilkie Bridge near Yatala meant that before today, B-doubles were not able to access the gazetted section of Beenleigh-Beaudesert Road from Stanmore Road in Wolffdene.

"Today we approved an alternate route along the section of Beaudesert-Beenleigh Road, north of the Stanmore Road intersection and joining with the currently gazetted route at Logan River Rd," Mr Bailey said.

"Across the state we've been working extremely hard ever since ex-Cyclone Debbie passed through to restore access and ensure the freight industry can continue to work as efficiently as possible.

"That's why we prioritised the review of alternative routes for truck drivers who would normally access Beenleigh-Beaudesert Road via the Alan Wilkie Bridge on Stanmore Road.

"This is good news for industry. We'll monitor conditions on the alternate route until the Alan Wilkie Bridge is restored and the previous access can resume."
