    Premier, Commissioner to inspect Debbie damage with State Disaster Recovery Coordinator

    Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk and Police Commissioner Ian Stewart will travel to Bowen and Proserpine this afternoon with State Disaster Recovery Coordinator Brigadier Christopher Field, AM, CSC, to inspect damage from ex-Tropical Cyclone Debbie.

    The Premier, Commissioner Stewart and Brigadier Field will call into to the Queensland Disaster Committee Meeting tonight.

    Brigadier Field, who is the Commander 3rd Brigade Lavarack Barracks, Townsville and was appointed to the State Disaster Recovery role yesterday.

    The State Disaster Recovery Coordinator role includes:

    • coordinating the recovery process for affected areas;
    • representing the Premier and the Deputy Premier during discussions with local councils;
    • coordinating the recovery and reconstruction efforts of government and non-government agencies, and
    • reporting to the Premier and Deputy Premier about recovery operations.
