Local feedback has prompted the State Government to expand the community consultation area on The Spit’s Parklands rejuvenation to include two small areas of parkland.

State Development Minister Dr Anthony Lynham today announced that the two areas known as Philip Park and Muriel Henchman Park on the Gold Coast Spit would now be covered by the current consultation process.

“We’ve had feedback from the consultant that locals are bringing up these two areas in the conversation about the rejuvenation of The Spit,” he said.

“If residents had views on these areas and their future, and have not expressed them, they are most welcome to make it known.

“Anyone who wants to change or add to their feedback can e-mail the consultant.”

The independent consultation team has already received more than almost 3000 completed surveys.

Public information sessions continue this week, with the final community information day at Southport State High School’s sports centre 10.30am-1.30pm this Sunday.
