Minister for State Development and Minister for Natural Resources and Mines
The Honourable Dr Anthony Lynham

Mines Minister Dr Anthony Lynham today noted Arrow Energy’s announcement about their sales agreement with Shell-owned QGC for Queensland gas.

Arrow today announced that it had a 27-year agreement with the QCLNG joint venture, which includes use of QGC-operated existing gas pipeline and related infrastructure.

“A reliable, accessible gas supply is critical as an energy and feedstock supply to industry,” Dr Lynham said.

“It’s Queensland gas that has been helping put downward pressure on electricity prices for Australian homes and businesses.

“The Government will be interested in the company’s proposals for domestic gas supply and their production timeline.

“It’s important for industry and jobs that more gas gets to market.”

The gas is expected to come from Arrow’s existing production licences and authorities to prospect in the Surat.

Where proposed production is covered by ATPs, Arrow will need to obtain production licences.
