More than one million dollars will be spent improving safety at the intersection of South Pine and Pullen Roads at Everton Park.

Main Roads and Road Safety Minister Mark Bailey said the $1.1 million from the Palaszczuk Government would help fund infrastructure that would significantly reduce risks for road users.

He said the allocation showed the Palaszczuk Government was listening to local communities.

“These works will improve safety at an intersection that has a high number of reported incidents,” Mr Bailey said.

“Works will include lengthening the right turning lane into Pullen Road from South Pine Road and upgrading the pram ramps and pedestrian crossing.

“The Palaszczuk Government is committed to improving road safety and delivering important works like this through its Safer Roads Sooner program.

“This program focuses on high benefit, cost effective road engineering treatments to address known and potential crash locations.

“Anydeath or serious injury on our roads is one too many, so initiatives like this are vital to making sure motorists have the safest, most improved road network available.”

Work is expected to start in early November with completion planned for April next year, weather and construction conditions permitting.

Work will be at night for the safety of the work crew, road users, and to minimise impacts to the road network.

"We appreciate the community’s patience while these important works are undertaken.
