Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk will bring her Cabinet to meet in Townsville next Tuesday (4 October).

“My Government governs for all of Queensland, and I’m always keen to take my Ministers into regional Queensland,” the Premier said.

“In addition to the Cabinet meeting, my Ministers and I will meeting with community leaders and stakeholders, Mayor Jenny Hill, and frontline service staff.”

“The three Government MPs in the Townsville region – Coralee O’Rourke, Scott Stewart and Aaron Harper - do a great job advocating on behalf of their communities, but it will be invaluable to have Ministers on the ground speaking directly to stakeholders and the community.”

The Cabinet meeting in Townsville follows a two-day Community Cabinet meeting in the city (in March) last year and Working Queensland Cabinet Committee meeting there in January this year. The Government will hold a Community Cabinet in the Whitsunday region on 23-24 October

Minister Assisting the Premier on North Queensland and Member for Mundingburra Coralee O'Rourke said this was fantastic news for Townsville and once again showed the Government's commitment to the north.

"I am constantly working with my Cabinet colleagues about issues on the ground in the north, and I'm pleased they will have the opportunity to see things first-hand next week," Mrs O'Rourke said.
