Deputy Premier, Minister for Infrastructure, Local Government and Planning and Minister for Trade and Investment
The Honourable Jackie Trad

Queensland exporters specialising in knowledge-based industries are thriving in international markets, including the United Kingdom.

Deputy Premier and Minister for Trade and Investment Jackie Trad met with three companies with Queensland roots in London during her trade mission to Europe and the Middle East.

“I had the pleasure of meeting three successful Queensland technology businesses who have established operations in the UK,” Ms Trad said.

“The international success of these businesses is real proof that Queensland companies have the innovation and skills to take on the world in established and emerging fields of technology.

“The Palaszczuk Government is actively supporting this broadening of our state’s economy with our $405 million whole-of-government Advance Queensland initiative – designed to create knowledge-based jobs, drive economic prosperity and build on our natural advantages.

“We’re very keen to work with established companies and explore good ideas around the world to replicate startup ecosystems and further encourage a culture of innovation because we know that developing this sector will drive jobs for Queenslanders.”

Ms Trad met the companies during a tour of the Commonwealth Bank’s recently opened London Innovation Lab.

The companies are:

·         The simPRO Group, which was established in 2002, with its head office in Queensland and branches in the United States and New Zealand as well as the UK.  The companies is an enterprise software provider, which develops all of its products designed, developed and supported in Australia to service over 80,000 users worldwide.

·         Liquid State, a Brisbane company which launched in 2011 and provides integrated communication services to a range of industries, and:
