Treasurer, Minister for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Partnerships and Minister for Sport
The Honourable Curtis Pitt

Today I have repeated the clear position of the government which is not to sell our income-generating state assets.

I stated quite clearly there is no change to the Government's position and we will not be putting assets up for sale.

The only party without a clear position is the LNP under Tim Nicholls which clearly has once again embraced asset sales but just won't be honest with Queenslanders about their position.

I have said today there has been no change in position by the people of Queensland who have voted in two state elections against asset sales.

The government's position to continue owning income-generating assets means Queensland taxpayers and not private shareholders continue to gain the benefit of the returns from these assets of around $2 billion a year.

Only the LNP is apparently happy to cause a budget black hole worth billions of dollars going forward by selling off assets and have the returns flow into the pockets of private shareholders.
