An industry briefing has today showcased upcoming works and project opportunities as part of the Palaszczuk Government’s record $20 billion road and transport investment.

Minister for Main Roads, Road Safety and Ports Mark Bailey said the briefing took place in Mackay and provided information to a wide range of infrastructure contractors and consultants on the Government’s four-year Queensland Transport and Roads Infrastructure Program (QTRIP).

“QTRIP allows us to take a step forward, in partnership with industry and business, to deliver a safe and reliable road network, while creating jobs across the state,” Mr Bailey said.

“This program is a record investment in roads, rail, marine, public transport and active transport infrastructure will support more than 15,900 jobs.

“Today’s briefing in Mackay provided an overview of upcoming projects to be released for tender that contractors can apply for in the future.

“We look forward to the workforce opportunities that will be created through delivering new infrastructure and investment into Queensland’s road network.

“The Palaszczuk Government is committed to working together with local Queensland industry to achieve this.”

Speakers at the Mackay event included:

  • Program Delivery and Operations general manager Amanda Yeates
  • Transport Planning Projects acting executive director Brad Chandler
  • North Queensland regional director Sanjay Ram
