Wide Bay plumbers and gasfitters have been recognised for excellence, snaring two awards at this year’s Master Plumbers Association of Queensland (MPAQ) industry Awards Night.

Bundaberg-based Dale Robinson took out the BERT Industry Leadership Award, while James Giles Plumbing of Goomeri took out the Queensland Gas Association Commercial and Industrial Gas Installation of the Year Award.

Minister for Housing and Public Works Mick de Brenni said it was great to see the local plumbing and gas industry receiving state-wide recognition.

“I congratulate Dale Robinson and James Giles Plumbing on winning these awards,” Mr de Brenni said.

“Dale’s been in the industry for more than three decades and has always done his part giving back to the industry, on average taking on one apprentice each year.

“James Giles Plumbing took the award for their state-of-the-art drying conveyer built in Emerald, providing their client with a highly efficient automated burner control system allowing large volumes of product to be handled quickly and efficiently.”

Member for Bundaberg Leanne Donaldson congratulated the winners for their awards night success.

“Dale Robinson and the team at James Giles Plumbing have really done the entire Wide Bay region proud,” Ms Donaldson said.

“Dale’s proven himself as one of the most influential leaders in a highly competitive field, while James Giles Plumbing’s innovative is helping Queensland citrus growers export top-quality products around Australia and the world.

“Both of our award winners are doing their part to create jobs for Queenslanders and train the next generation of plumbers and gasfitters.”
