Brisbane-based medical software company DoseMe will use the $30,000 in prize money it won at the Advance Queensland Innovation and Investment summit to grow the company’s team.

DoseMe won the pitching competition against four other innovative Queensland businesses at the Advance Queensland Innovation and Investment Summit dinner in April.

Innovation Minister Leeanne Enoch visited DoseMe today to officially open the company’s new office space at Taringa.

“I was excited by DoseMe’s award-winning pitch at the summit and I’m thrilled that they will reinvest that $30,000 into expanding their current team,” Ms Enoch said.

“Not only is the company delivering an innovative and cutting-edge product that benefits Queensland but the prize money they received has allowed them to create a new position for an innovative Queenslander to help drive this company forward.

“The technology is truly remarkable, DoseMe has created easy-to-use software that allows clinicians to dose a patient based upon that patient's individual ability to absorb, process, and clear a drug.

“Using simple patient information, such as height, weight and gender DoseMe can accurately calculate individual patient dosages.

“DoseMe is exactly the type of company that the Palaszczuk Government is keen to support.”

Ms Enoch said DoseMe was just one example of the kind of investment being made under the Palaszczuk Government’s $180 million Advance Queensland innovation and jobs plan.

“Advance Queensland is a comprehensive suite of programs designed to kick-start the startup ecosystem in our state,” Ms Enoch said.

“Through programs like the Ignite Ideas Fund and Knowledge Transfer Partnerships, we are delivering targeted funding to help Queenslanders take their innovative Ideas and turn them into commercially viable products and services right here in Queensland.”
