New $65M pharmaceuticals distribution centre for Queensland

The Palaszczuk Government has welcomed the decision by Sigma Pharmaceuticals to develop a new $65 million distribution centre in Queensland.

Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk said the new facility, to be located at Berrinba in Logan City in south-east Queensland, was a major investment and a commitment of confidence in Queensland.

“Sigma Pharmaceuticals expect up to 50 jobs to be created in the construction of the new facility. Operations at the new facility are due by the end of 2017,” Ms Palaszczuk said.

Health Minister and Member for Woodridge Cameron Dick said the 15,000 square metre centre would provide for the distribution of medicines to patients throughout Queensland.

“I welcome the investment by Sigma Pharmaceuticals in the Logan region and boost it will provide our local economy,” Mr Dick said.

Sigma is a pharmacy wholesale and distribution business. It also has a pharmacy network in Australia, with over 1,200 branded and independent stores.
