The Palaszczuk Government has today announced $1.2 million for the Mount Isa Community to keep CareFlight in the air.

Speaking from the Working Queensland Cabinet Committee meeting in Mount Isa, Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk said CareFlight provided a range of helicopter rescue and medical retrieval services to the remote region of Mount Isa and surrounding districts.

“I am extremely pleased my Government is able to provide this further funding to support the important services CareFlight provides to the North West region," the Premier said.

Minister for Police, Fire and Emergency Services and Minister for Corrective Services Bill Byrne said the additional one-off funding of $1.2M to the service means the community can be assured that CareFlight will continue to service the region.

CareFlight has successfully delivered critical services to communities throughout Queensland for over 30 years.

CareFlight provides this service with the support of the Public Safety Business Agency.
